Aarogya Setu App - A Digital Initiative of GOI The advent of COVID-19 has made tremendous changes in every aspect of our life. The pandemic has been declared a contagion and hence its identification requires contact tracing as an essential element. India, being one of the most populous countries in the world, had to deal with the identification and contact tracing of COVID-19 in an effective yet convenient manner. For this purpose our government came up with the innovative idea of using a mobile app for contact tracing and identification purpose.  The Aarogya Setu app was launched by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology(MeitY) to help citizen identify their risk of contracting COVID-19. The app has so far notched up more than 80 million downloads and is proving as a very efficient tool in  the detection and tracing of COVID-19 cases. E-Pass Issued under COVID-19 Lockdown The COVID-19 virus has wreaked havoc in social as well as economic corridors across nations and has left many questioning the stringent measures introduced by the governments to curb the transmission. What we know about the effect of Covid-19 on animals? It is a widely believed and accepted theory that COVID-19 has its origin in animals specifically Bats but now that the virus has started spreading and transmitting in humans, the role of animals in the disease is becoming a buzz around every corner of the world. The most obvious of all the concern being is the disease communicable through pets as well.  Genetically corona virus is very similar to the SARS virus and the SARS virus was proven to be susceptible to some domestic animal species- at least experimentally. The SARS virus was proven to be communicated by cats and dogs were thought to be lower risk based on experimental evidence.
